Included in the tour plan: E-bike rental (Specialized VADO 4.0) Helmet,Cycling gloves, One drink or water during the tour, and a light meal (snack or sweets) are included. Lunch is not included, and payment is required separately.
Day 1 (Afternoon): After check-in, we'll take a light cycling trip to help you get comfortable with the e-bike. The route through the Satoyama will be customized based on participants' skill levels and the weather. You'll get to enjoy the best of the season, including a break at a traditional cafe in a farmhouse that's over 100 years old.
Day 2 or more For stays of two nights or more, you'll experience a special ride to discover the beautiful Japanese countryside. Explore enchanting satoyama landscapes, timeless shrines, and charming traditional-house cafes. As a local who has lived here for many years, I'll guide you on the best seasonal routes, sharing countless hidden gems.
Checkout Day: After checkout, we'll begin with a visit to the ruins of the Yokokawa Checkpoint to experience over 400 years of history. From there, you'll smoothly ascend the Usui Pass, colored by vibrant autumn leaves, on a high-performance Specialized VADO e-bike from California. The climb to the peak of the pass will be effortless, and we'll visit scenic viewpoints only a local would know.

Meals: For dinner and breakfast during your stay, you will shop at the local JA supermarket, which is well-stocked with fresh local vegetables. You can purchase items to suit your preferences (including options for vegan, halal, etc.), as the cost of groceries is not included in the plan. We'll also share our insider tips on how to enjoy the Satoyama in ways only someone born and raised in Gunma would know.
Getting Here
By Car: We are conveniently located 2 minutes away from Matsuida IC, which is 115km from the Nerima IC in Tokyo.
By Train: Take the Shinkansen to Takasaki Station 50 minutes, then a 25-minute ride on the Shin'etsu Line to Matsuida Station. For your convenience, we can transport your luggage to Karuizawa Station after you check out, so You can then pick it up after your cycling trip and take the Shinkansen (bullet train) back to Tokyo in about 75 minutes.
With such convenient access, you can enjoy a luxurious and active escape in the lush Satoyama, even from the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Each cabin can accommodate up to 4 people, but we recommend it for 2 guests for maximum comfort.
